EGG CARTON CREATION

EGG CARTON CREATION

This week for our Whetu Challenge we created something using egg cartons.

I deiced to make a turtle with a fashionable shell to clip on and off. I am proud of what I have made, it may be small and it may be weird but all that matters is that I like it.

The materials I used were an egg carton bottom half, Pom poms green to be specific, Crazy googly eyes, a Peg,  Hot glue and scissors. The hot glue made it all come together so it would all stick together.

My plan came together perfectly, because people helped me and I had all the things I needed.

The most challenging thing that happened was the TIMER, time went TICK tok TICK tok, too fast and the time limit was over before you knew it.

I love doing Whetu challenges each Fri-yay, because it challenges me and makes me think outside of the box.

Blog challenge - Recreate a part of the class room.

I finished my creation, I had to use my imagination and pretended that I was standing there for real! Then I saw it all coming together.
I could feel the long soft wool of the carpet under my feet as I was standing there squishing my toes into it, but my eyes were caught by the subtle glow of the fairy lights flashing on the whiteboard.
But what I liked the best was the fact that this classroom has a super soft couch that only 3 students or Teachers could sit on. When we ever do work it will be great to sit on the couch instead of having to be squashed on the floor by all the other students is defiantly the best part.

This is my completed Blog Challenge

Word of the week - Cacophony

Cacophony what is this mysterious word well I just learnt about that word because that's our word of the week. When I searched it up it came up with nothing but I re-worded what I said, then it came up with what it meant. Then I started typing away and made my final product I am proud to say I made a Supernova and put all my effort into it. I like the pop of colours and the stars to make it stand out.

Here's my final product of Word of the Week.

Maths mystery - Murder at the Movies

This Murder-ful Math Week, the Mystery was Murder at the movies... I worked with my partner in crime which was... Stephanie. I really enjoyed working with her because I had lots of mind farts because my brain heard of Math and deiced to forget everything. But Stephanie kept me in track. I forgot to say that this Maths Mystery was 1000% harder and trickery. There were more twists and turns with new Math ways. After the third question we stated to give up, because it got to the stage where it felt impossible but we used resilience and completed it.  Then we got the final answer the person who murdered a random citizen was... Berniece Lowery. Time for prison!

Whetu Fantastic Challenge Paper Airplane Competition

Whetu Challenge - Paper Planes

Today our challenge was to design an accurate paper plane. We were given a draft piece of paper to trial and a good piece to use once we had tested the accuracy of it.

Before we started I thought this challenge was going to be easy because I was going to make my Hornet bee paper airplane.

I decided to use the design of my original idea of the Hornet bee because it always flys a far distance and does a loopty loop.

The hardest part was folding it in the specific way because one wrong fold means it will not fly.

During our competition time I managed to score nothing... Because I am not at school I am at home.

Here is my Plane (Hornet Bee)

Maths Mystery the Pencil case Thief...

This week we did another Maths Mystery... and I partnered up with Stephanie. First we did a twist and guessed who it was, at the very start. I guessed Vilot and Stephanie guessed Ruby. But anyways the hardest part was Clue. 3 because we got a little confused but we solved out our problem and asked the Teacher, then she helped us understand the question. Stephanie and I banged through the questions and we figured it out with team work and the thief was.... RUBY! Stephanie guessed it!

New Birthday Card Idea!

For one of the activates we could do was to create a new Birthday card online or by hand. Miss Coles and Mr. Fraser are looking for a new type of birthday card so the asked the school if they could create a new card for them. If you didn't know already when its your birthday at school or on the weekend they will go in your class and give you a birthday card, to say Happy birthday from them to you. But if your birthday is in the weekend they will give it to you on Friday or earlier. Anyways I decided to make a star-y themed card because at the end of last year we got new painted signs for the classes. Most of them were night-timed themed so that's why I did a star-y theme. The reason I did not already right there names down was because if they print it out they can get a pen, and write down there signature down so you know its from them.

A tip, I recommend on google drawings is once you have got the thing you have made like my present, screen shot it and Ctrl-c it then place it where you want to because that's what I did and it helps like a lot.

Here is the card I have made on google drawings

Word of the Week...

This Week for Word of the Week the mysterious word was... Bewildered. "What is this word" I said to my self a couple times but then I figured it out and stared writing and searching away. I think for all the times I have done word of the week this one is my favourite. This word was fun to write definitions find a picture write synonyms and use it in a sentence. I love doing word of the week because I learn a new word and can put it in to my story of what I am saying to some one. I like how I added  the stars for a extra touch and I am proud to say that I have achieved a SUPER-NOVA

BOOM! Here is my final product.
(With my years of practice of google drawing I can make a drop shadow can you spot it?)

(Its on "Word of the Week")

Sick Sentences, a Snail in a Strawberry!?!

This week as we do we got another Sick Sentence but instead of it being simple they modified it to be a bit different. How they modified it you ask well... at the top of the slide there were four words saying "who, what, where and when" and highlighted if four different colours. Then it goes back to usual and you have too re-write a sentence to make it boosted. After you've done that you get to highlight  "who, what, where and when"  in that sentence. The picture for this week was a Snail in a Strawberry and we had to write the nouns and adjectives in the picture. If you want to see the finish the snail story click on my freedom writing and then you can see it. (its on the last page)

Word of the Week Task Challenge.

Today when I started the Word of the week my brain was stumped, I had never heard of this word before so as I did I searched it up and then my brain had a bit more under standing of the word. Afterwards I decided to make it more like a supernova and added more detail instead of just a word. When I mean detail I mean it, and then the whole picture changed instead of "blah" to "Woah".

Information about me in 2030!

ME in 2030 isn't possible but it is, anyways this week we had to fill in a poster about us in 2030! It had really cool questions to answer and changed my mood and I got more intrigued by it. But then again it was a little bit harder because you have got to know things like what job you want to be, and I didn't really know in that time what I wanted to be. However a spark clicked in my head wanting to be a... Scientist! So I ended up putting that as my answer. In the middle is a picture of me in 2030, I will have my long hair back and a passport and a Drivers license. I made the Drivers license myself in google drawings.

Ta da! This is my final product

Say "Hi to meeting my pet"

One of the tasks or challenges you could say was to introduce your pet on your blog. First we got sent a template to fill in, after you have filled that in most people would say there done but I spiced it up and added some POP of colour. I used the help of google drawings to blend the colours for each information box, Afterwards I wanted to change it up a little bit more! By changing the fonts for a different look and KA-BOOM meet my pet cookie. One thing you should know about her is that she is different because her breed is a turtle shell which means she has three different colours of fur on her. Our cat is special because she got found of state highway 25 in a box on the side of the road, but luckily the SPCA saved her and then we adopted Cookie. Enjoy learning about my pet cat and how she is different and unique.
