Workshops - Chapter Chat - Guitar Case Theme

 Earlier this week we got to choose a new workshop to do, however since I was away when everybody chose I ended up being stuck with two options, Science and Chapter Chat. I decided to do Chapter Chat again for one reason, all the task are always challenging and different. 

We still had the same categories but different tasks. 

When I first took a look at the board the one that caught my eye was CREATE. Create was about Ross's Guitar-case that he just got but it was nothing fancy, it had stickers on it and a paint spilt on it and lots of other mess. Lots of people did the Guitar-case and had many different cool unique ideas, but mine was very different. 

Instead of making in 3D Case I made a Pop - up card with the Theme of a room. I made the paint bucket of of paper and made the paint pop up of the ground to give it a cool affect. 

I think I did a Supernova whakapau kaha, (It means... Effort, give it your all)

Number of the Day is coming to a end...

 You heard it right, Number of the Day is coming to a end. Number of the Day is Twenty mathematical questions we do each day but not Fridays. 

Its all types of Maths you name it its probably in our Number of the Day. 

But anyways Number of the day is going to be switched over to a "Can do" which isn't a "Must do". But something else is going to take Number of the Days place but nobody knows what it is because the Teachers are keeping it a secret until next week.

Inquiry - "So What?"

 

This is my "So What?" Inquiry activity for Term 3. We Learnt about "Should animals be kept in Zoos.  My opinion is that Zoos should not exist. 

Workshops - Chapter Chat - Task: MAKE

 We do workshops every week but we had brand new tasks to choose from. Option one was science, doing something to do with water, Second was Rad- Rhythm, hit some beats with music, Last but not least Chapter Chat but spiced up. I decided to do Chapter Chat because they said that they had changed it to different tasks. They were different than usual but I really liked it, there was ART, MAKE, CREATE. I did make because the task was about Ross's cancer and to try help it by making a fundraiser or just help in a different way. Since it was about cancer and most of my grandparents died because of it,  I deiced to do it for that one reason. I took my time to turn it into a Supernova effort and after three days I got it completed and Supernova effort.

Cross - Country

 Cross Country is ON, this week on Thursday we did Cross Country. But instead of going to the South farms and stepping in Sheep poo and mud we couldn't because of Covid- 19. But the school had a idea to do it on our Training track, since I am ten I had to run two big laps and one small lap. It was pretty challenging but my goal was to run at least one full lap without stopping, and I did what my goal was. I am proud of myself for pushing myself more than I thought I would. Every public person I ran past they pushed me to strive for the best so I smiled and said "Thanks".  Yes this Cross Country was different and yes it was harder but I tried my best and I achieve what I wanted to.

FREAK OUT SCALE - Chapter Chat - Wink

This Week we are going to do CHAPTER CHAT again!!! I am so pumped we get to do it again, anyways back to my creation. This term our book is.... WINK! 

Its about this boy that can only keep one eye closed because he has cancer, and he always gets stared at like he's a monster and his Step Mum is obsessed with Starbucks, but she pronounces it wrong sometimes. So

instead of doing normal Chapter Chat the Teachers spiced it up for this year. 

The options we get to pick from were CREATE, MAKE, VOCABULARY and WRITE, It sounds pretty self explanatory. I chose to do CREATE, to make your own freak out scale because in the book when he got told he had cancer he thought of his freak scale. 

I made my background black because I wanted mine to be unique and I don't think any body else did black. My Favourite Freak Scale part was number nine because most of the time when I'm freaked out I cry into my pillow.

Poison Dart Frog Describe it- Literacy Rapu

 This Week we got introduced to a New Literacy Rapu. The previous week we got to choose our animal, I choose the Poison Dart Frog because it sounded interesting. That previous week we got to research about our animal about what it eats, and where it lives so on, so on. But we got to do something different for this week, first we had several rounds to fill in like for instance one round was Describing words of its appearance and more. Afterwards I had to re-word four sentences, that was my favourite part because you could make in your own way to match your animal.

Whetu Fri-YAY Challenge

This Week for our Whetu Challenge it was a online challenge. Instead of in pairs, or groups we got in to our Learning Constellation Groups. Anyways this Weeks Challenge was... THE CARTOON CHALLENGE! We got showed a slide and had to choose one of the following cartoons they had picked out for us.

 First we choose Paw-Patrol but then it got a bit hard with all the detail so we decided on Peppa Pig. I wanted to do the main character Peppa so luckily I got to do it. 

The hardest part was the whole thing, because google drawings is harder than it looks, there are so many tools you can use it confuses you well it confuses me. 

Since I finished first I decided to make something else. I made a FROG yes a Frog I really don't know why I wanted to make a frog but I did. Even making the smallest things are hard. Then the Teachers said "Five minutes to go". Then we got more stressed but we got it completed. Then it became the time of sharing, every single group was awesome, they had great detail, or a pop of colour they were all great. But if I had to choose my favourite it would probably be Ashley's group (sorry i forgot the name) there one was Tu-meke. Well done.

I enjoyed the Whetu Challenge it challenged me like ever other week its great but it felt impossible. 

Maths Mahi

Every week we do maths Mahi, Maths Mahi is Eight questions you have to solve and at the end, there is a Investigation Mahi. The Investigation Mahi is basically a puzzle you try to solve, they are always hard to solve because your brain feels smaller every time you try but you eventually get it. In every slide the questions are either Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication or Division. All of those types of Math we get tested on for Maths Mahi. I enjoy Maths Mahi it gives me something to do every day, sometimes it challenges me and sometimes not.
