Or if there is wild animals around you then if you build a shelter about medium size then they cannot get in because if you make, it to big then they can squeeze in through the gape.

The best habitat to build a shelter is flat and dry ground, plus branches and leaves. You want to build your shelter on flat and dry land, because it is more stable because if you have wet gooey land then your shelter/tent, will sink into mud that's like quick sand. If you build on a sloped area then your shelter will most likely go down the slop. But like I said in the top peace of shelters you should really use the stuff around you instead of losing your spot for looking for better materials. When you build shelters a good idea is to build your shelter on high ground because if you get hurt then somebody will see you so then you should get help straight away.
