For this Weeks Whetu Survivor Knowledge Seekers got to learn about Knots, with Mrs Heaven, Mrs Loft, and Mrs Fraser. There are so many types of knots but on this post I attempted the Figure Eight knot, when you make the knot/tie the knot when your finished just to make sure that is completed it should look like a number Eight, if its not then you have made a mistake somewhere along the lines of tying.
Fun fact did you know that the Figure Eight knot also can be called the Flemish bend, I like the name Flemish Bend because to me its sounds stunning and not basic and boring the Flemish bend sounds like it has more pop to it but then again that's just me you may prefer the Figure Eight knot because it sounds like a puzzle. But anyways I think that I would use this knot in a situation where I am going to go rock climbing and I had to secure myself I would use this knot because did you know that when rock climbers go climbing they prefer to use this knot because it is really secure and easy to tie. I would rate this knot a 2/5 because it is pretty easy because it only took me three times to make it perfect.
Hello I am Tamzin, this year I am a year Six in Whetu I like music so that's why I play Guitar. I love the sport called Hockey, it is really fun and dangerous.
